Privacy 2.0
We are a production company, not a data company. Customer data is not important to us in the long term. We use it to process your order, and after that it can simply be destroyed. Please note: GONE = REALLY GONE.
This is our privacy philosophy in plain language, although “privacy philosophy” is admittedly not the simplest phrase.
For the formal GDPR statement (processors, legal bases, legal details):
Privacy policy (GDPR).
No cookies
We do not place tracking or marketing cookies. Technical session data is processed only locally and is used solely to make your use of the website possible.
It is your data
The data you provide is used only to process your order. Afterwards, you can see what we know about you and what remains if you press the big delete button.
Everything local
We do not store customer data with external parties. All data remains on our own systems: no cloud services, no external CRM, no data aggregators. The exceptions are Mollie and PostNL.
You are the customer, not the product
We do not sell data, do not profile for marketing and do not use your data for purposes other than fulfilling your order.
What data do we keep and for how long?
| Data | Purpose | Retention period |
|---|---|---|
| Session data (website visit without an order) | Cart, temporary uploads, use of the calculator | Maximum 72 hours |
| Name and contact details | Processing and delivery of the order | Duration of the order relationship |
| Delivery address | Shipping via PostNL | You can check the exact retention period with PostNL. |
| Payment details | Payment processing via Mollie | Are not stored by Printics; processing is handled entirely by Mollie |
| Administrative order data (invoice, VAT) | Statutory accounting obligation (Dutch Tax Administration) | 7 years (legally required) — anonymized where possible |
| 3D model files | Production of the order | See the section below about 3D files |
Your 3D files: we are not a storage service
We are a production company, not a storage service. We store your 3D model to produce the order. After that, the file no longer serves a purpose for us.
If we create a 3D design for you, we do keep it for longer, but without directly linked customer data.
In practice, your 3D models may remain in your account for some time, sometimes even years. However, this is not guaranteed: the file may be permanently deleted at any time, either by you or by a Printics employee (for example during cleanup or disk maintenance). If you have an active order, we cannot delete the models.
If your 3D file is valuable, keep your own copy. We do not guarantee long-term storage.
For customers with regular repeat orders, we retain files for longer for convenience.
Close your account after your order
Have you completed your order and no longer want an account? You can ask us to anonymize your account; this is carried out fully automatically with immediate effect. We then remove your personal data and disconnect your order history from your identity. What remains is only the administrative data we are legally required to retain (anonymized where possible).
Close accountExternal parties
We deliberately work with as few external services as possible. There are two exceptions that are strictly necessary to fulfil your order:
Mollie
Payment processingPayments are processed via Mollie. You are redirected to their secure environment. Payment details are never stored on our servers. Mollie privacy policy
PostNL
ShippingFor shipping, we share your name and delivery address with PostNL. Only what is strictly necessary to deliver your package. PostNL privacy policy
Legal obligations: intent checks
As a production company, we are legally required to check whether ordered products are legal. This means that in certain cases we may investigate the intended use behind a print and the financial profile of a request, particularly when there is reason to suspect that an order is being used to manufacture:
- Firearms, weapons or weapon parts (including decorative items)
- Products covered by weapons prohibitions or export-control legislation
- Other objects or products prohibited by law
This investigation falls under our duty of care and legal obligations (including the Dutch Weapons and Ammunition Act and Wwft). Data processed in this context is subject to a separate legal basis and retention obligation.
